Pioneering assistive technology specialist, Invate, has appointed TH_NK to drive forward their online expansion programme with the development of a new e-commerce channel.

Gateshead based, Invate, is one of its kind in the North East – sourcing and supplying industry-leading technology products to education and employment for people with disabilities.

Invate is responsible for providing, installing and offering training on the use of assistive tools including specially designed keyboards and screen readers which are all in compliance with Disability Discrimination Act guidelines.

Critical to the project is the accessibility and usability of the website for people with disabilities. This key consideration informs all aspects of the design and usability of the website. Invate and TH_NK are committed to making this a best of breed website to raise the bar of accessibility standards in the assistive technology sector.

Membership of the W3C council, which is instrumental in defining web standards places TH_NK in the ideal position to help Invate with their e-commerce plans and to take this e-commerce development forward, we are developing a range of exciting new features for the new site which is due to launch later in the year. 

Assistive Technology products are vital to ensuring people with disabilities are given equal opportunity to access tools and training to utilise equipment to its full potential. It’s fantastic that there is now increased legislation in place to support these activities, but this also means we must respond to market demand and step up our game, which is why we are investing heavily in our Web-based offering. Working with TH_NK has opened our eyes to what is possible in the digital arena. We’re looking forward to introducing a range of innovative new services which will provide added value to our customers.
